MMA’s main event in Florence, Ky. on Saturday, October 2, 2010.

The “Battle Against Breast Cancer Event” benefits the Pink Ribbon Girls, a non-profit organization benefiting breast cancer awareness and education. This historic event is Kentucky’s first all-female mixed martial arts event.

Couture weighs in at 135 lbs. and holds a 2-3-0 (w-l-d) record. Her opponent is Felicia Wells, a

local Kentucky fighter.  Couture trained for this event with fellow female fighter and athlete Cris Cyborg and Cyborg’s

husband-coach Evangelista Cyborg at the Arena Mixed Martial Arts facility in San Diego, Calif.  In addition to traditional conditioning methods, Couture also took her strength and conditioning preparation outside.

Couture said, “The weather and beach in San Diego is so beautiful, so we decided to take it up a notch and take advantage of outdoor training as well.”

In addition to training, entrepreneur Couture has been busy launching the Vixen Crew, an elite group of female mixed martial artists.

Couture is a seasoned athlete born in Colorado. She began training in MMA over six years ago and has been fighting for three. She continues to make her mark in women’s MMA, both in and out of the cage.

Tickets for the 7:30 P.M. event at Turfway Park are available online at http://www.aamma.net. For
